              CONFERENCE WITH INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION
      "eWorld : Quo Vadis Electronization of Public Administration?“

Institute for Public Administration Prague traditionally hosts a technical conference once in two years time. So already the fouth year took place in our training centre in Benešov on 14th-15th October 2009. This year holds a title „eWorld : Quo Vadis Electronization of Public Administration?“, because this topic is now highly up to date not only in the Czech Republic but also across Europe. 
 
The conference with international participation was realized under the patronage of Minister of Interior and was divided into two sections. Each of them consisted of three monotopical streams. We intended to present eGovernment, in other words electronization of public administration, in a way that would not have caused  worries among people and they would have considered it as something barely intangible. The first section was therefore called „Human Faces of eGovernment“, the second one held the title „Past, Present and Future of eGovernment“. Well renowned experts on the eGovernment issue provided different perspectives of this up to date topic.

We were glad to welcome approximately 150 guests and among them were Minister of Interior, his deputy for public administration or mayor of Prague 13, representatives of academic sphere and private enterprises. eGovernment experts and representatives of training organizations  from Germany, France, Portugal, Slovakia and Iran also took part on the conference.
In his speech, the Minister of Interior mentioned highly up-to-date issue of data boxes and expressed his view that tasks related with their implementation are to be managed sucessfully. He also appreciated the work of Institute for Local Administration so far and pointed out his visions about its further development.  eGovernment experts and representatives of training organizations  from Germany, France, Portugal, Slovakia and Iran also took part on the conference.
The audience widely appreciated topics of papers presented because they reflected their real information needs.
Hosting of the next conference is planned for 2011.
